Greek dry bulk shipping company Diana Shipping has entered into a time charter agreement with Geneva-based SwissMarine Services S.A. for its 180,235 dwt Capesize dry bulker MV Aliki.

Diana said that the gross charter rate is USD 5,300 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties.

The vessel will be employed for a period of minimum eleven to maximum fourteen months.

The 2005-built MV Aliki, expected to start work tomorrow, should generate approximately USD 1.75 million of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the time charter.

This represents the company’s second charter deal signed in two days, as Diana inked an agreement with Transgrain Shipping B.V., Rotterdam, for its 75,311 dwt Panamax dry bulk vessels, the MV Nirefs, yesterday.

Diana said that MV Nirefs’ employment should generate approximately USD 1.5 million of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled charter period of eleven months.
