Diana Shipping Fixes Two Bulkers
Image Courtesy: Diana ShippingGreek dry bulk ship owner Diana Shipping has signed time charter contracts for two of its vessels, namely its Newcastlemax dry bulk vessel M/V Los Angeles and its Panamax dry bulk vessel M/V Danae.
The 206,104 dwt Newcastlemax bulker will work for SwissMarine Services S.A., Geneva, at a gross charter rate of USD 7,750 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties.
M/V Los Angeles, built in 2012, was chartered for a period of about twelve to fifteen months.
Diana Shipping’s second charter agreement was signed for the 75,106 dwt Panamax bulker M/V Danae. The vessel was hired by Dampskibsselskabet Norden A/S, Copenhagen at a gross charter rate of USD 4,900 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties.
The 2001-built M/V Danae was chartered for a period of minimum eleven to maximum fifteen months.
Diana Shipping expects that the charter agreements, which commenced today, will generate approximately USD 4.3 million of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the time charters.
As World Maritime News reported yesterday, Diana entered into two addenda with China Shipbuilding Trading Company and Jiangnan Shipyard (Group) Co., Ltd. to extend the delivery dates of the two Newcastlemax dry bulk carriers by approximately five months.
The expected delivery dates are now in the third and fourth quarters of 2016.
The company has also entered into a time charter contract with SwissMarine Services S.A., Geneva, for its 179,362 dwt Capesize dry bulk vessel M/V Seattle for a gross charter rate of USD 7,300 per day minus a 4.75% commission paid to third parties. The contract was signed for a period of about eleven months to maximum fourteen months.
