Maran Tankers Eyes Three New VLCCs?

Greece-based shipping company Maran Tankers plans to order three very large crude carriers (VLCCs) from South Korean shipbuilder Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME), according to information provided by VesselsValue.

Maran Tankers would pay USD 80 million for the construction of each of the three ships.

If the parties reach the agreement on the construction of the three 318,900 dwt vessels, the ships will be delivered in December 2019, VesselsValue’s data shows.

The tankers would feature a length of 336 meters and a width of 60 meters.

As of March 2017, Maran Tanker has a fleet of more than 40 vessels. In addition, the company has four VLCCs and four Suezmax tanker newbuildings on order, scheduled for delivery between 2017 and 2019.
