Capital Ship Management Adds Three Vessels

Greece-based Capital Ship Management Corp. has taken deliveries of two tanker newbuildings from Asian shipyards and a 2011-built bulk carrier.

M/T Amfitrion, a 50,100 dwt IMO II/III eco chemical/product tanker, was delivered from Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) Ningbo in China on January 12, 2017. The newbuilding is the last of eight sister ships delivered between 2015 and 2017, according to the company.

Furthermore, M/T Aristaios, a 112,800 dwt Ice Class 1C crude oil/product tanker, was handed over to the company from Daehan Shipbuilding in South Korea on January 10, 2017. Aristaios is one of two sister vessels to be delivered in January 2017, Capital Ship Management said.

The third vessel, the 178,929 dwt M/V Aristofanis was delivered to Capital Ship Management on January 10, 2017. The bulk carrier is the first of three sister ships to be handed over this January, according to the company.

Built by South Korean shipbuilder Sundong Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering in 2011, the Capesize bulker was previously known as K Adventure. VesselsValue’s data shows that Aristofanis was purchased from South Korean shipping company SK Shipping in November 2016.

Capital Ship Management currently operates a fleet of 55 vessels with a total tonnage of around  5.7 million dwt.
