Costa Deliziosa cruise ship, owned by Italian Costa Cruises, is featured in today’s spotted marking the cruise line’s return to Port Everglades, Florida.

“Costa Deliziosa is the newest Costa ship to homeport in the United States,” said Scott Knutson, vice president of sales and marketing for Costa Cruises North America.

Costa Cruises, an arm of cruise liner conglomerate Carnival Corporation, has sailed from Port Everglades since the 1960s and is returning for the winter season following a four-year break.

“Costa Deliziosa is a good fit for Port Everglades because it gives our cruise guests the option to cruise aboard a vessel that has a distinct Italian style,” said Port Everglades Chief Executive and Port Director Steven Cernak.

The 92,600-gross-ton ship Costa Deliziosa entered service in 2010.

Able to carry 2,828 passengers and a crew of 1,100, the vessel features a hybrid design, a length of 292 metres and a beam of 32.3 metres.

Costa Deliziosa was built by some 3,000 people at Italian Fincantieri shipyard for a price tag of over USD 494 million.
