Dorian Charters Out VLGC Commander

Liquefied petroleum gas shipping company Dorian LPG Ltd. has entered into a five-year time charter agreement for the ECO very large gas carrier (VLGC) Commander with an unnamed Asian oil company.

Commander, the company’s 15th newbuild vessel, started its time charter in the fourth quarter of 2015, right after it had been delivered at the beginning of November.

The 84,000 cbm vessel trades in the Helios LPG Pool.

Dorian LPG currently owns and operates twenty VLGCs and one pressurized LPG vessel.

The company has two more 84,000 cbm ECO VLGC newbuildings under construction at Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries, expected to join Dorian’s fleet in 2016.
