Keel Laid for Höegh’s First Horizon Vessel
The keel of the first vessel in the series of six Post-Panamax vessels ordered by Höegh Autoliners from Xiamen Shipbuilding Industries, China was laid on April 30.
The six Post-Panamax vessels, of the New Horizon design, will be delivered to Höegh Autoliners in 2015-2016. This will be the world’s largest PCTCs with a carrying capacity of 8,500 CEU (Car Equivalent Units).
Xiamen Shipbuilding Industries is a yard with most experience in the construction of car carriers in China. The yard had previously delivered four PCTCs to Höegh Autoliners, in 2010 and 2011.
