Greece-based containership owner Diana Containerships has entered into a time charter contract with Wan Hai Lines (Singapore) for one of its Post-Panamax boxships, the M/V Rotterdam.

The charter is expected to commence on January 26, 2018, and the gross charter rate is USD 13,150 per day for a period of minimum 120 to maximum 170 days.

The 6,494 TEU Rotterdam is currently chartered to French container shipping company CMA CGM at a gross charter rate of USD 6,890 per day.

The new employment is anticipated to generate approximately USD 1.58 million of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the time charter, the company said.

Built at Japanese Koyo Dock in 2008, the ship currently has a market value of USD 19.49 million, VesselsValue’s data shows.

Earlier this month, Wan Hai Lines (Singapore) hired another Diana Containerships’ Post-Panamax, Hamburg, at a gross charter rate of USD 11,000 per day.

Diana Containerships’s fleet currently comprises eleven container vessels including six Post-Panamaxes and five Panamaxes.
