Genting Cruise Lines celebrated the float out of World Dream, the newest cruise ship built for its brand Dream Cruises, at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, on August 26.

“Genting Cruise Lines is extremely proud to commemorate the float out of World Dream, the newest member of our family, for Dream Cruises,” Kent Zhu, President of Genting Cruise Lines, said, adding that the newbuilding will double Dream Cruises’ capacity in the Asia Pacific.

The float out also marked the unveiling of World Dream’s new hull artwork, entitled “A Tale of Two Dreams”.

Following the float out, the final work and trials will be carried out on the ship while it is berthed at Meyer Werft’s outfitting pier.

World Dream will then pass next month through the river Ems to the North Sea before going on its journey to Asia.

In November, the newbuilding is scheduled to make its debut in Asia with dual home ports of Hong Kong and Guangzhou (Nansha). With World Dream, the cruise line intends “to continue to grow the Pearl River Delta cruise industry and provide fly/cruise options for the region with new itineraries to Vietnam and the Philippines.”

Featuring a length of 335 meters and a width of 39.7 meters, the 151,300 gross ton World Dream is a sister ship to Genting Dream which was delivered to its owner in October 2016.
