MSC Shipmanagement Chooses RINA’s EGO Software
Image Courtesy: MSCCyprus-based MSC Shipmanagement has selected classification society RINA’s InfoSHIP Energy Governance (EGO) software for the performance management of its fleet.
After trialling InfoSHIP EGO on one vessel, it is now being “rolled-out” to eighty-one vessels and subsequently, the MSC Shipmanagement’s entire fleet.
“With this tool we believe we that will be able to measure the real savings and payback time for our CO2 emission reduction investments, and to comply with MRV requirements,” Prabhat Jha, MSC Shipmanagement Limited Group Managing Director, said.
InfoSHIP EGO is part of the ship management software suite developed by RINA and IB Software & Consulting. The tool has modules which collect data on board the ship automatically from navigation and machinery automation systems. The data can then be analysed for trim optimisation, propulsion efficiency, voyage and fuel management, overall energy management and decision management, RINA said.
