Goldenport Offloads Three Boxships

Greek owner and operator of dry bulk and container vessels Goldenport Holdings concluded the sale of three container vessels yesterday.

Pursuant to the extraordinary general meeting (EGM) resolution dated November 23, 2015, the company completed the sale of the 1996-built 5,551 TEU container vessel Fortunate, 1992-built 970 TEU container vessel Gitte and 1992-built 970 TEU container vessel Brilliant to companies fully-owned by Goldenport Containerships Inc.

The vessels’ delivery to the new owners took place on December 21, 2015.

As a result of the transaction, the cash position of the company has been increased by USD 976,000 and the outstanding debt has been reduced by USD 9.4 million.

Following the sale, Goldenport Holdings now owns a fleet of two container vessels, namely the 2,500 TEU Erato and the 1,129 TEU Paris Jr, as well as seven bulk carriers ranging from 53,800 dwt to 93,000 dwt.
