Norwegian Smaragd Comes Home

Norwegian shipbuilder Havyard Ship Technology held a naming ceremony for Smaragd, a combined purse purse seiner / trawler built for compatriot fishing company Smaragd AS, in Leirvik in Sogn, on August 8.

The vessel was delivered to Smaragd AS on July 17. Leirvik will be Smaragd’s homeport.

The trawler is Havyard’s 121st newbuilding delivered. The ship was designed by Havyard Design & Solutions.

Smaragd is 74 meters long, 15.8 meters wide, with a cargo hold of 2,100 m3. The vessel was ordered back in 2013, and was initially due to be delivered in April 2015.
