Video New Suez Canal Project Update

On October 18 the Egypt’s Suez Canal Authority, awarded the contract for the New Suez Canal to an international consortium consisting of National Marine Dredging Company (NMDC) as the lead partner, and Boskalis, Van Oord and Jan De Nul.

The NMDC was awarded the 35km new parallel channel with a dredge volume of approximately 180 million m³ which will require up to 20 Cutter Suction Dredgers to be mobilised. The project is to be completed by August 2015, and works are already in full swing as this video posted by the NMDC shows.
