CMES: The Ordering Spree Continues

Chengxi Shipyard Co., Ltd. has signed another contract to build four 64,000 dwt bulk carriers for China Merchants Energy Shipping (CMES).

According to CMES filing to the Shanghai Stock Exchange from January 29th, the company decided to exercise options for additional bulkers bringing the total number of vessels under order at Chengxi to 10.

The newbuildings, also known as Dolphin 64, are energy-efficient, environmentally-friendly vessels designed by Shanghai Merchant Ship Design and Research Institute (SDARI).

PRINCIPAL PARTICULARS:

LOA : 199.90 m

Breadth (mid): 32.26m

Depth (mid): 18.50m

Scanting Draft: 13.30 m

All four ultramax bulkers are scheduled for delivery in the second half of 2017.
