BMT Names New Business Development Manager

BMT Design & Technology (BMT), a subsidiary of BMT Group Ltd, international maritime design, engineering and risk management consultancy, has appointed Jason Steward as Business Development Manager.

A University of New South Wales graduate in naval architecture, Jason has over 20 years’ experience specialising in the management of engineering for sustainable advantage, primarily in the defence and maritime domain.

Previously employed as Regional Manager for global defence prime contractor Austal Ships Pty Ltd, Jason was responsible for business development, sales and service across the Americas. Before that, Jason held the post of Consultant to Defence at professional technical services firm Jacobs Australia Pty Ltd.

BMT Design & Technology delivers independent professional engineering services to the defence, maritime and transport industries. Jason’s new role at BMT will see him take responsibility for evaluating current and potential future markets and support the company’s continued expansion and development.

Jason has a Bachelor of Engineering in Naval Architecture, a Diploma in Ship Superintendency, and is soon to graduate with an MBA. He is a Chartered Professional Engineer (CEng MRINA) and a member of the Professional Affairs Committee of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects.
