Norway: Ulstein Verft Delivers IMR Seven Viking to Eidesvik

State-of-the-art IMR (Inspection, Maintenance and Repair) vessel of SX148 design ‘Seven Viking’ was delivered from Ulstein Verft to Eidesvik Seven yesterday, 23 January 2013.

The vessel will now head for Stavanger, where she will be named on Wednesday 30 January, before starting operations for Statoil in the North Sea.

‘Seven Viking’ is vessel number forty with the well-known X-BOW® hull line design from ULSTEIN. The vessel is designed to meet the high demands of IMR, Survey, and Light Construction in some of the harshest environments. The versatility of the vessel allows for Scale Treatment and Light Diving Support services. The hull form, with the ULSTEIN X-BOW®, combined with a redundant diesel electric propulsion system, ensures the best performances with regard to station keeping, speed and fuel economy. The main propulsion system comprises three azimuth propellers, each propeller driven by variable speed electric motor. The vessel is built, equipped, and painted (tanks and exterior) in dry-dock inside a covered dockhall, ensuring controllable atmosphere and the best quality of work.
