The Netherlands: Orange Blue Terminal Brings New Mobile Harbor Crane Into Service

The Orange Blue Terminal in Eemshaven in the Netherlands, which belongs to the Buss Group, brings a new mobile harbor crane into service on 24 October. The LHM 600, which is manufactured by Liebherr, is an important milestone in the further consolidation of the terminal as a multipurpose site.

With a maximum lifting capacity of 208 tons and a radius of up to 58 meters, the LHM 600 is specially designed for the transshipment of heavy-lift and project cargos and is also suitable for container, general and bulk freight.

“By installing the LHM 600 at Eemshaven, the Buss Group is underlining the site’s potential, which we see in the field of offshore industries in particular,” says Marc-Oliver Hauswald, CEO of Orange Blue Terminals B.V. “With its range, the mobile harbor crane can address the specific demands of the growing offshore sector as well as the handling of the wide variety of goods from other industries. This means the Eemshaven multipurpose site is also outstandingly equipped to deal with future developments.”

The quay at the terminal that Orange Blue Terminals B.V. operates in Eemshaven is currently 260 meters long and is due to be extended to a total length of 630 meters in 2012. The terminal’s equipment and geographical location and a draft of up to 14 meters make it suitable for the transshipment of goods of all types.
