Germany’s shipbuilder Flensburger-Schiffbau-Gesellschaft (FSG) has delivered another 32,336 GT roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) ferry to Norwegian company Siem Europe.

The newbuild, named Liekut, was delivered to its owner on March 26.

Launched in October 2019, Liekut is the eight RoRo vessel built by FSG for Siem. With a length of 209.79 meters and a width of 26 meters, the ship has a load capacity of 11,900 tons.

FSG completed the seventh RoRo ship for Siem in August last year. Named Leevsten, the newbuild is identical to its sister vessel Liekut.

Last week, FSG temporarily suspended all operations due to the coronavirus pandemic, joining its European counterparts that were also forced to halt production.

“Under the current circumstances, we are very pleased that the handover could take place without any problems,” FSG said in a statement.
