The first vessel under K Line’s long-term shipping contract with Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) arrived to the port of Khalifa, UAE on June 23.

The 183,123 dwt Capesize vessel Cape Taweelah has brought a cargo of bauxite in bulk from the loading port at Kamsar, Guinea.

The ship’s arrival marked the first memorable visit of a fully-laden Capesize vessel at a GCC port, according to the parties.

EGA is equally-owned by Mubadala Investment Company of Abu Dhabi and the Investment Corporation of Dubai.

EGA began production at its new Al Taweelah Alumina refinery, that processes Bauxite ore into Alumina, in April.
