Nordic Shipholding Offloads Handysize Tanker

Denmark-based shipowner Nordic Shipholding has decided to dispose of a Handysize product tanker.
On February 26, 2019, the company’s subsidiary Nordic Ruth entered into a sale and purchase memorandum of agreement with an undisclosed buyer to sell the Nordic Ruth tanker.
The 35,800 dwt ship will be sold for USD 6.1 million. According to data provided by VesselsValue, the vessel has a market value of USD 4.99 million.
Built at South Korean Daedong shipyard in 2000, Nordic Ruth has a length of 183 meters and a width of 27 meters.
With a gross tonnage of 35.800 tons, Nordic Ruth, previously known as Hanne, flies the flag of Singapore.
Nordic Shipholding said “it does not expect the sale to have any significant impact on the outlook for 2018 provided in the Interim Report Q3 2018.”
Following the sale, Nordic Shipholding owns five product tanker vessels, five Handysize tankers and one LR1. The Handysize tankers are commercially operated by UPT, Hamburg and Hafnia Management A/S, Copenhagen and the LR1 unit is employed in the Straits Pool.
