German shipyard Meyer Werft started the construction of Royal Caribbean’s second Quantum Ultra Class cruise ship on February 1, 2019.

The construction was launched with a steel cutting ceremony of the vessel number S.713 at the shipyard in Papenburg, Germany.

To be named Odyssey of the Seas, the ship will be the fifth unit for Royal Caribbean International within the last few years.

Scheduled for completion in fall 2020, Odyssey of the Seas will sail from the United States.

Royal Caribbean took delivery of the similar sister ships Quantum of the Seas, Anthem of the Seas and Ovation of the Seas in autumn 2014, spring 2015, spring 2016 and in spring 2019.
