Pacific Basin Names, Takes Delivery of New Handy Bulker

Hong Kong-based Pacific Basin has held a naming and delivery ceremony for Iwagi Island, the latest Handysize bulker to join the company’s fleet.

Constructed at Imabari Shipyard in Japan, the 37,600 dwt vessel was ordered by the company back in 2015.

Featuring a length of 180 meters and a width of 29.8 meters, Iwagi Island flies the flag of Hong Kong.

As informed, the newbuilding was christened by Nadine Knight, the godmother of the ship.

The 47,000 cbm bulk carrier currently has a market value of USD 22.19 million, VesselsValue’s data shows.

Pacific Basin’s fleet currently comprises more than 200 ships of which over 50 were built at Imabari.
