Operator of FPSO units BW Offshore has reached an extension agreement for the Abo floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit off Nigeria.

Under the deal with Nigerian Agip Exploration, a subsidiary of Italian oil and gas major Eni, the FPSO will continue working for until March 31, 2019.

The contract comprises a firm period of 2 months and a 9-month further extension period on the same terms, BW Offshore informed.

The previous extension for Abo FPSO was signed with Nigerian Agip Exploration in late March. The short term extension, which was valid until April 30, 2018, was agreed “to secure operational continuity while joint work is continuing to conclude the negotiations.”

BW Offshore has a fleet of 15 FPSOs and one FSO represented in all major oil & gas regions world-wide.
