Diana Containerships Sells Panamax for Scrap

Athens-based boxship owner Diana Containerships has reached a deal to sell its 2006-built vessel New Jersey for demolition.

The company signed a Memorandum of Agreement to sell the Panamax container vessel to an unaffiliated third party for around USD 9.67 million.

The deal is on an “as is where is” basis, with vessel due to be handed over to the buyer by mid-March 2018.

Following the completion of the transaction, and the previously agreed sale of two Post-Panamax container vessels, Diana Containerships’ fleet will consist of 4 Post-Panamax and 4 Panamax container vessels.
