Diana Containerships Reactivates, Charters Out Panamax Ship

Greece-based owner of container vessels Diana Containerships revealed plans to reactivate one of its Panamax boxships, the M/V Pamina.

What is more, the company has entered into a time charter contract with Hong Kong-based shipping company Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) for the abovementioned vessel.

The gross charter rate is USD 9,500 per day for a period of minimum seven to maximum twelve months. The charter is scheduled to start on September 13, 2017.

The 5,042 TEU Pamina was built at Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) shipyard in 2005. Currently, the vessel’s market value stands at USD 8.45 million, according to data provided by VesselsValue.

As informed, the employment is anticipated to generate approximately USD 2 million of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the time charter.

Diana Containerships’ fleet currently consists of 11 container vessels – 6 Post-Panamaxes and 5 Panamaxes.
