Two More Bulkers Join GOGL’s Fleet

Nasdaq-listed shipowner Golden Ocean Group Limited (GOGL) has taken delivery of two additional second-hand bulkers purchased in March this year within a deal for 16 dry bulk vessels.

The latest addition’s to Golden Ocean’s fleet are Q Myrtalia and Q Shea, to be renamed Golden Myrtalia and Golden Shea, the company informed.

This is the third bulker pair to be delivered to GOGL in less than a month, as a bulker duo was handed over to GOGL at the end of April featuring the 2013-built Q Sue and 2014-built Q Kaki, with another bulker pair following suit earlier this month comprising the Post-Panamax Q Kennedy and the Capesize bulker Q Amreen.

Golden Ocean has issued 1.95 million consideration shares to Quintana Shipping and associated companies in exchange for the two vessels.

The company said that following this transaction, GOGL’s issued share capital is USD 6,051,149.60 divided into 121,022,992 issued shares, each with a nominal value of USD 0.05.

In line with the terms of the deal, of the 16 ships, 14 will be bought from subsidiaries of Quintana Shipping, and two ice class Panamax vessels will be bought from subsidiaries of Seatankers, an affiliate of Hemen Holding, the company’s largest shareholder.
