Gener8 Maritime Tied to VLCC Pair Sale

US-based crude oil shipping company Gener8 Maritime has decided to dispose of two of its very large crude carriers (VLCCs), a representative from VesselsValue confirmed to World Maritime News.

The 320,000 dwt Gener8 Noble and Gener8 Theseus have been sold in an en block transaction for USD 81 million each to Malaysia’s AET.

The two Liberia-flagged ships were built at South Korean Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries shipyard in 2016.

Each of the two 154,163 gross-ton tankers features a length of 333 meters and a width of 60 meters.

Market value of Gener8 Noble currently stands at USD 78.94 million and of Gener8 Theseus at USD 79.12 million, VesselsValue’s data shows.

Currently, Gener8 Maritime operates a fleet of around 40 vessels.
