A total of nine crewmembers were evacuated from the general cargo vessel Cabrera after the ship ran aground on the northern coast of Andros Island, Greece, according to the Hellenic Navy.

The naval helicopter managed to remove the vessel’s crew, consisting of four Philippine, three Polish, one Ukrainian and one Lithuanian national.

The Hellenic Navy informed that the vessel grounded on a steep rocky coast and that it was sinking amid severe weather conditions at the site.
