Korea Line Orders Supramax Bulker Duo

South Korea’s shipping company Korea Line Corp has ordered two bulk carriers from an undisclosed shipbuilder for a price of USD 60.6 million, according to data provided by VesselsValue.

The company is paying USD 30.3 million for each of the Supramax vessels, which feature 50,000 dwt.

With 9,827 gross tons, the eco bulkers are scheduled to join their owner in June 2017.

Korea Line operates a fleet of 26 vessels with an average age of 7 years, including 21 bulk carriers, four liquefied natural gas (LNG) vessels and one small dry ship.

With the two Supramax vessels on order, the company has six ships under construction, four of which are expected to join Korea Line’s fleet by the end of 2016.
