Hyundai Heavy to Build Two Tankers for Enterprises Shipping

Greece-based shipping company Enterprises Shipping and Trading has placed an order for two 158,000 dwt tankers with South Korea’s shipbuilder Hyundai Heavy Industries, data published by VesselsValue shows.

Although the price of the vessels was not disclosed, VesselsValue said that the market value of each of the ships stands at USD 58 million.

Scheduled to join their owner in 2018, the new vessels will be of ECO design reducing significantly their CO2 footprint, compliant with the very stringent Tier III standards in regard to the NOx emissions and fitted with a ballast water treatment system, according to Enterprises Shipping and Trading.

Enterprises Shipping and Trading operates a fleet of 41 vessels, 24 of which are bulk carriers with a total of over 2.6 million dwt, while the remaining 17 are tankers.

The company’s entire tanker fleet features over 1.2 million dwt.
