SwissMarine Hires One More from Diana

Greek dry bulker owner Diana Shipping Inc. has entered into a time charter contract with Geneva-based SwissMarine Services S.A., Geneva, for one of its Capesize dry bulk vessels, the MV Semirio.

The gross charter rate is USD 4,800 per day, for a period of minimum eleven to maximum fifteen months. The charter commenced on February 6, 2016.

This employment is anticipated to generate approximately USD 1.58 million of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the time charter, the company said.

This is the third bulker SwissMarine has hired from Diana in less than a month. Namely, in January Diana chartered out Capesize dry bulkers MV Aliki to Diana and the MV Houston.

The gross charter rates for the duo are USD 5,300 and USD 5,150 per day respectively for a period of minimum eleven to maximum fourteen months.

MV Semirio was previously chartered out to Rio Tinto Shipping (Asia) for a year at USD 10,000 per day.
