The National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia (Bahri) has taken delivery of the first of two second-hand Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs) purchased in October, the Blue Topaz.

The ship was transferred to Bahri’s ownership on Thursday, 7 January 2016 and her name was changed to Wedyan.

Bahri said that the financial impact of the vessel is expected during the first quarter of 2016.

The two-vessel contract is worth a total of USD 157 million. Bahri did not disclose when the second vessel, Blue Pearl, is expected to join the company’s fleet.
