UAE Fines Fuel Supply Company for Illegal Bunkering

Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA) has taken legal action against a fuel supplying company for illegally conducting bunkering operations in Dubai waters.

The company was fined for failure to obtain the necessary permissions and approvals in violation of Dubai government regulations, according to Dubai-based GAC.

The height of the fine has not been reported.

“Dubai Maritime City Authority calls upon all ships’ owners, ships, agents and bunker providers to adhere to the rules and regulations of the Emirate, and ensure all necessary permissions are obtained from DMCA before conducting any bunkering operations by barges,” DMCA said.

The identity of the company and the amount of bunkering fuel provided have not been disclosed.

GAC Dubai is yet to provide World Maritime News on the said details.
