Turkish shipbuilder Armada Shipyards, part of Palmali Group, launched the Armada Pride, the thirteenth 7,150-dwt tanker within the Project RST22M, and the second of five to be built by this shipyard on September 2, 2015.
Istanbul-headquartered Palmali Group, a shipping company operating in the Mediterranean, the Caspian and the Black Sea, signed a contract with Armada Shipyard for the construction of five 7,150 dwt tankers in December 2013.
The distinctive feature of the ships built under project RST22M is the utilization of rudder propeller as the sole propulsion system, absence of central bulkhead, a deep well cargo pump, etc.
The ships fit the Volgo-Don and Volgo-Balt channels in respect of their dimensions. The length overall (LOA) of the project RST22M ships is 139.95m, the breadth is 16.6m, and the moulded depth is 6m.
