Hyundai Mipo Hands Over Third Tanker to Ocean Yield

Oslo-listed ship owning company Ocean Yield ASA has taken delivery of the 37,000 dwt IMO II chemical tanker Navig8 Amessi from Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Mipo Dockyard.

After being delivered from the shipyard today, the vessel commenced a 15 year-long “hell and high water” bareboat charter to Navig8 Chemical Tankers Inc, Ocean Yield said in a press statement.

This is the third vessel delivered in a series of total eight chemical carriers that will be chartered to Navig8 Chemical Tankers Inc.

The eight tankers were acquired at a total gross price of USD 306.8 million.

The first vessel was delivered on 1 June, followed by delivery of the 37,000 dwt IMO II chemical tanker Navig8 Aquamarine on June 25th.

Ocean Yield also has three 36,000 cbm Liquefied Ethylene Gas Carriers (LEGs) to be chartered out to the Hartmann Group  and two PCTCs intended for Hoegh Autoliners on order scheduled to join the fleet in 2016.
