Hanjin, K Line, PIL Launch New Intra-Asia Service

Korea’s container carrier Hanjin Shipping has teamed up with Japanese counterpart “K” Line and Singapore’s Pacific International Lines on a new intra-Asia service.

The new joint service, dubbed “China Straits Express”, will be operated on a weekly basis with 4 of 2,500 TEU class vessels, taking effect on April 20th, 2015.

The service will cover ports in China, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Vietnam and detailed port rotation is as follows:

Qingdao – Shanghai – Ningbo – Laem Chabang – Singapore – Port Klang– Laem Chabang – Hochiminh City – Xiamen – Qingdao

Hanjin Shipping said that introduction of this new service will enhance the carriers’ network and service competitiveness by meeting container shipping needs within the region, covering China and parts of South East Asia directly.
