U-Ming Sets Sights on Cement Carrier Duo

Asia Cement No 2

Taiwan-listed ship owner U-Ming Marine Transport Corp has revealed plans in a stock exchange filing to order a cement carrier duo.

The move stems from the company’s desire to renew its fleet replacing aged vessels with more fuel efficient and environmentally-friendly units.

Details of the vessel particulars and the identity of the shipbuilder remain undisclosed.

U-Ming has a fleet of five cement carriers with sizes ranging from 6,169 dwt to 12,340 dwt.

Based on the data available on the company’s website, U-Ming has four 186,300 DWT capesize newbuilds and two panamaxes on order.
