DSME Aims for USD 13 Bln Orderbook

South Korean shipbuilding giant Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) has set its orderbook target at USD 13 billion for 2015 basing its forecast on the key indicators of the current business environment.

The shipbuilder reported a full year net income loss of KRW 208.9 bn, down 86.4 % when compared to figures for the same period in 2013 that amounted to KRW 241.9 bn.

The company’s revenue for 2014 stood at KRW 471.1 bn, 6.8 % higher than in the previous year with sales rising to KRW 16.7 trillion from KRW 15.3 trillion reported in 2013.

DSME had a pretty good start of the year with respect to its order intake, which includes order for four LNG carriers placed by Korea Line Corporation and Hyundai LNG in January this year.
