Motor vessel Santa Lucia ran aground Tuesday near Miah Maull Shoal in Delaware Bay while inbound to Philadelphia.

The ship’s cargo is reported to be fresh produce.

A crewmember aboard the 470-foot Santa Lucia contacted United States Coast Guard watchstanders at about 4:30 a.m. to report the grounding.

The Coast Guard, along with New Jersey and Delaware state government officials, assisted the ship owner’s salvage team to evaluate the situation and safely refloat the ship despite a major snow storm battering the US coast.Grounded Reefer in Delaware Bay Back Underway
