Rotterdam Port Congestion Easing Up

Rotterdam Port Congestion Easing Up

The congestion which troubled the Rotterdam container sector during the past few months seems to be decreasing, the Port Rotterdam Authority reports. Inland shipping operators report that increasingly more ships are being handled on schedule. According to ECT, the situation is now under control.

Sector organisation CBRB with which most barge operators are affiliated, remains cautious however. The organisation confirms that the handling of inland shipping by ECT’s Delta Terminal on the Maasvlakte has improved greatly over the past one-and-a-half weeks, but that waiting times are still not what they should be.

ECT informed its clients by means of a circular letter that it expects to be able to handle most inland shipping on schedule in the coming time.
