Twenty-Nine Vessels Changed Owners Last Week

Lion Shipbrokers said that a total of twenty-nine vessels have been acquired by various shippers last week. Seven bulkers, three container vessel and nineteen tankers changed their owners.

Lion Shipbrokers said in its weekly report: “The BDI is going south for one more week, standing at 1002 today, just two points away from breaking the psychological barrier of 1000 mark. We were expecting that this sharp decline over the past few weeks would discourage potential buying interest, however we picked up numerous transactions for one more week, illustrating that buyers are keeping the faith. Asset values remain firm, very often beyond the budget of many prospective buyers out there.”
