One of the “Big Three” shipbuilders of South Korea, Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co., Ltd (DSME) has secured a new order for the construction of eight Very Large Gas Carriers (VLGC).

The vessels are 84,000 cubic meter LPG carriers estimated to be worth around $650 million. The newbuildings will be 226m long, 36.6m in breadth, all scheduled for delivery in the second half of 2016 from Okpo Shipyard, Geoje.
