Scorpio Announces Agreements for 22 Newbuilds

Scorpio Bulkers, a provider of marine transportation of dry bulk commodities, has entered into agreements for the purchase of 22 new vessels.

The orderbook includes twenty Capesize and two Kamsarmax dry bulk vessels.

Shipyards responsible for the construction of these ships are: Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Sungdong Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co., Daewoo Mangalia Heavy Industries and Hudong-Zhonghua (Group) Co.

The total purchase price for the vessels is approximately $1.17 billion.

Delivery of the ships is slated to take place between Q1-15 and Q2-16.
