Deutsche Messe’s portfolio of industrial events in India opens its doors today, December 17th, marking its first run at the Pragati Maidan exhibition center in New Delhi and the first time it will be staged under the “WIN–World of Industry” brand.
WIN INDIA is the umbrella for five trade fairs – CeMAT INDIA, Industrial Automation INDIA, MDA INDIA, Surface Technology INDIA, and Industrial Supply INDIA – that present products and services in material handling and logistics; industrial automation; power transmission and control and fluid power; surface treatment; and subcontracting, components and materials, respectively.
“WIN INDIA showcases domestic and international companies and is the region’s one-stop shop for a diverse range of user industries, including agriculture, automotive, chemical, construction equipment, food processing, infrastructure, intralogistics, machine tools, manufacturing, metalworking, mining, steel, and transportation,” said Wolfgang Pech, senior vice president at Deutsche Messe AG. “Pragati Maidan is at the center of a number of these industries and, with its modern facilities, enabled us to expand our supporting program.”
During the past ten years India’s economy has grown seven percent annually, with manufacturing providing the machinery, equipment and goods required to build modern infrastructure, create jobs, increase incomes, and improve living standards.
A recent McKinsey & Company report projects that growing local demand and India’s appeal as a low-cost manufacturing location have the potential to increase growth in India’s manufacturing sector by a factor of six by 2025, which could lead to 90 million new jobs.
WIN INDIA 2013 will host 314 companies on 11,000 square meters of display area. Exhibitors include such industry leaders as Akapp Stemmann, Argo Hytos, Beckhoff Automation, Crown, Eaton, Festo Controls, Godrej & Boyce, Jungheinrich, KUKA, Maini Materials Movement, MGM Varvel, Pepperl+Fuchs, Schneider Electric, SMC Pneumatics, Stäubli, Tsubaki, and Voltas, plus those in country pavilions from China, Germany, Italy, Korea, and Taiwan.
WIN INDIA’s supporting program consists of conferences, seminars and application parks that provide visitors with a diverse range of educational and networking opportunities. Highlights include the MDA Forum, with tracks for diagnostics/preventive maintenance, economics, energy efficiency, engineering, and new markets/new applications; the CeMAT Forum, which will focus on warehouse design, cold chain logistics, retail, and pharmaceutical; the Industrial Automation Forum, with its keynote theme of energy efficiency; and the International Purchase Managers’ Summit, which examines best practices and strategies.
