COSCO Zhoushan Completes FPSO 'P-67' Forebody

The forebody of the Petrobras’ floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit, the ‘P-67’ has been loaded onto the semi-submersible vessel, MV ‘Xiang Rui Kou’ and shipped out to Brazil.

The FPSO forebody that measures 151.3 metres in length, 54 metres in breadth, and 31.5 metres in height was constructed at the COSCO (Zhoushan) shipyard in China.

Thanks to the great operational and technical support from COSCO (Shanghai), and the comprehensive planning and experienced construction organization of COSCO (Zhoushan), the forebody was built to a high standard and safely completed with one million man hours of construction.

FPSO P-67 is the second of the first series of eight replica units, part of the original plan of 24 units for the period 2012 – 2016, whose construction will now continue at the ECOVIX Rio Grande yard.

All eight hulls of the series were originally planned to be built at the Brazilian ERG shipyard, but in order to keep up with the schedule some of the parts were later transferred to China.

When completed, the FPSO will be used in giant deepwater offshore fields south of Rio de Janeiro.
