Yangzijiang Nets New Orders of $533m

Yangzijiang Shipbuilding (Holdings) Ltd. has announced the latest updates to its newbuilding orders saying that the group has won contracts for 15 new vessels worth overall $533 million.

The orders received are for five 82,000 DWT and four 208,000 DWT bulk carriers. Also, six options consisting of four 82,000 DWT and two 64,000 DWT bulk carriers were converted into effective orders.

These 15 new effective contracts are scheduled for deliveries in 2015 to 2016. So far a total of 67 shipbuilding contracts amounting to $ 2.63 billion have come to effect.

As of Nov 13th, Yangzijiang has 30 options outstanding equaling to $ 1.48 billion, of which 11 options are for containerships worth US$ 0.85 billion and 19 options are for multi-purpose bulk carriers worth US$ 0.63 billion.
