The 146,600 gt cruise ship Norwegian Getaway has left MEYER WERFT’s covered building dock II. The float-out of the ship, which is built for the US cruise operator Norwegian Cruise Line, started in the morning hours of Nov 2nd 2013.

Baltiysky Zavod, a subsidiary of United Shipbuilding Corporation, today held a keel laying ceremony for the new generation nuclear icebreaker of Project 22220. When finished, the icebreaker LK-60 will be the largest and most powerful icebreaker in the world with an approximate lifespan of 40 years.
Aker Philadelphia Shipyard ASA, its wholly-owned U.S. subsidiary, Aker Philadelphia Shipyard, Inc. (APSI), has been selected by Matson Navigation Company (Matson) to construct two 3,600 TEU containerships. Firm contracts are in place for the two vessels with a total value of $418 million. The vessels will be delivered in Q3 and Q4 2018 and will not require additional financing by APSI.
Prosafe has agreed a Letter of Intent (LoI) with COSCO (Qidong) Offshore Co. Ltd. for the Engineering, Procurement and Construction of two semi-submersible accommodation vessels, with options for four further units.
