China Shipping, Maersk Ink ‘Zeebrugge’ Agreement, Belgium

China Shipping Group and Maersk Group signed the agreement about Zeebrugge (Belgium) terminal investment and relative cooperation in Brussels, on March 31st.

China Shipping director and president Zhang Guofa and Maersk vice president Francois Delenclos signed the agreement. Chinese President Xi Jinping attended the ceremony and witnessed the signing process, as it is an important composition of Sino-Belgium economic and trade cooperation.

The agreement stipulates that on the basis of China Shipping Terminal Development (Hong Kong) Company’s acquisition of 24% equity of Zeebrugge Terminal owned by Maersk APMT, the two sides will further strengthen strategic cooperation in terms of terminal businesses, and discuss the feasibility to jointly operate other container terminals.
