77 Personnel Evacuated from Noble Paul Wolff Rig (Brazil)

Noble Corporation confirmed today that the Noble Paul Wolff, a dynamically positioned semisubmersible rig operating off the coast of Brazil, experienced a ballast control incident on Friday, February 28 at approximately 01:00 a.m. (BRT) local time.

The crew took prompt corrective action, including safely securing the well, and measures are currently underway to resolve the matter. As a precaution, 77 non-essential personnel were evacuated from the rig without injuries, and no pollution has been reported.

“Noble continues to work with its customer and appropriate authorities in connection with this matter,” the company said in a press release.
