Bocimar Adds Five Newbuild Capesize Units to Its Fleet

Bocimar recently expanded its fleet with five newbuilding Capesize units that will all be built by Imabari (Japan).

It concerns four 206.000 dwt units: two fully-owned scheduled for delivery in the first and second quarters of 2016 and two ships taken on time charter for a period of ten years scheduled for delivery in the second and third quarters of 2015.

The fifth ship, a 180.000 dwt vessel, will be owned in joint venture with National Coal Supply Corporation (NCSC), a fully-owned subsidiary of the Israeli Electric Corporation. NCSC has chartered the vessel for a period of ten years.

Bocimar also exercised its option to acquire a further two newbuilding Handysize vessels. This brings the total number of ships on order with Samjin to 12 units.
